The Ultimate Big Bang Comic Trade Paperback

I believe that this trade paperback is the best one of all of Big Bang Comics trades. It feels really full of tins of material and extras, and you can read it for a while. DEFINITELY get your money's worth with this one!

My favorites have to be any of the stories done by Jeff Weigel, the closet thing we have today to the legendary Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson. It's got some rare stuff that's out of print and a cool excerpt from the Big Bang Comics History.

To be honest, Ultiman was never my favorite of the Big Bang Universe (that honor goes to The Knight Watchman, Thunder Girl and The Sphinx - also available in trade paperbacks) but this book has definitely increased my love for the character. And Ultragirl is a star waiting to happen.

Seriously, for $9.99 you get 160 pages of goodness. Compare that to a single modern issue which costs 4.99 on average and you get your money's worth here.

The classic stories that never were, back again for the first time!

When the Big Bang line of comics debuted in the 1990s, I picked them up for the same reason the creators made them...we all loved the comic books of the Golden, Silver and Bronze ages, particularly those from DC. The Big Bang stories were loving homages to bygone eras, and I enjoyed them greatly.

Now, picking up this trade collection of past Ultiman adventures, I realized something: I wasn't simply just a fan of the classic characters which inspired the Big Bang heroes...I am a sincere and dedicated fan of the Big Bang characters themselves. Ultiman is as "real" and as interesting to me as Superman himself is. These stories transcend homage, and as such are well worthy of checking out for their own merits.

About the Author
Professor Warren Brodsky is Director of Music Psychology in the Department of the Arts at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Beer-Sheva, Israel). After a short-lived career as a music performer, he completed an artist-degree (BMus) in orchestral Percussion, and majored in early childhood musical development leading to a Diploma and Certificate of Teaching (K-6) from the Rubin Academy of Music (Jerusalem, 1982). Warren trained as a music therapist at Hahnemann Medical University (Philadelphia, USA, 1984); during his 10 year clinical career he was registered (RMT), certified (CMT), and board-certified (MT-BC) in the USA, registered (RMTh) in the UK, and licensed as a Creative and Expressive Therapist in Israel. Warren completed his PhD in Psychology at Keele University (Staffordshire, UK, 1995) under the eminent music psychologist John A. Sloboda. At Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Dr Brodsky served two 2-year Post-Doctorial Fellowships (1996-2000). I really enjoyed the character development including weaknesses

I mostly read the free Kindle books. This is the only series in which I have purchased ALL the books. I really enjoyed the character development including weaknesses. Excellent twist by using a world that didn't just fall apart over a weekend due to the virus, but instead was slowly decimated by economy, corruption, and eventually martial law.

The intrigue and suspense in this one nearly did me in. Still lots of action and good character development but more puzzles. This is a great series! and probably ok stand alone but you should start with one and follow the whole story line. If that's more pages than you care to tackel at least go back to 4.
