Not Your Average Time Travel

Her dying Aunt Judith wants the rich, young heroine to marry her deceitful step-son and even gives them a special ring to use for the wedding. The ring allows her aunt to swap bodies with the other wearer when they each put a ring on at the same time. It goes awry when she drops the aunt's ring and instead, is sent back in time to the aunt's original body where it all began. She must stop her "Aunt" even if it means leaving Drew, the man who has learned to trust in her and she has come to love.

Drew wasn't sure whether it was fortune of folly that had brought the vanished, wickedly irresistible Monique back to him. Though his heart ached with the shattering pain of her betrayal, his sould burned with the firey need to hold her again and possess her once more in passion's searing embrace. Yet little did he suspect that the woman he called wife was an imposter... an ebony-eyed beauty from another world whose dangerous secrets coul destoy them both. He only knew that they were destined to be together, to lie in each other's arms and reap the rapturous rewards only their timeless love could bring.
This was an excellent book. I read it for the first time in High School, and loved it. I'd checked it out at the library and thus, when I'd decided to reread it, had to hunt it down. I spent a considerable amount of time at a romance novel website going through titles. It is just great.
The emotions that Monica goes through during the entire book were well written and had me laughing and crying along with her. I was able to care about the entire Sumner family almost immediately. The children were well written and on point with their ages, which is very hard for people to pull off I think.
The paranormal/time travel theme was perfectly blended with the romance theme of the book. Monica dealt with her emotions and travel to another time with perfect believability. She didn't scream and shout it from the rooftops but made little hints of it throughout the book.
It was a great read, and it was just as good as what I remembered. Maybe even more so because I'm older and more mature now so I am able to feel with her and better understand her plights. The bedroom scenes weren't trashy, but they were tactful and filled with the proper amount of detail. Romance novels that read like erotica are one of my biggest pet peeves.
Overall, this is one of my new favorites. Definately a keeper on my shelf!
